Chris Walters

Amanda Barker (Little)

Chris Walters, MS, ATC

I graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training in 2008.  I started my career as an Athletic Trainer working for two years at Normal Community High School.  In 2010 I earned my Masters of Science degree in Athletic Training from Illinois State University.  As a graduate student I took an interest in the rehabilitation and prevention of throwing injuries and completed a project that examined the effectiveness of instrument assisted soft tissue therapy on the throwing shoulders of collegiate baseball players.  Following graduate school I worked as an athletic trainer and assistant to shoulder and elbow surgeon, Dr. Tony Choi at Midwest Orthopaedic Institute in Sycamore, Illinois.  This is my second year at GBN and I look forward to getting to know as well as working with the athletes, coaches, and parents.

  Amanda Barker (Little) ATC, PES-NASM

I started out as a student athletic trainer at GBN then going to Eastern Illinois University.  I graduated from EIU with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a minor in community health in 2003.  I started my career out at York Community High School.  After staying at York for a year I moved to work with AthletiCo.  I was placed at Hoffman Estates high school for two years.  Then moving to work with the Naperville youth football league.  After that I moved to work at GBN, this will be the start of my fourth year at GBN.  I love working with GBN students and parents, this is my home and I am glad to be working here.  I am also a certified performance enhancement specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
